Description: Harvest Moon Estate and Winery was founded on a single principle--to grow world class Russian River Valley Zinfandel in a balanced, elegant style. Our premise is that Zinfandel can be just as layered and complex as any Pinot Noir or Bordeaux variety in the world and receive the same respect. The Pitts family has grown quality grapes in the Russian River Valley since 1977. In 2000, son Randy reverse migrated from San Francisco back to Sonoma County to assume the farming responsibilities at the family's modest nine-acre ranch. In conjunction with lessons on farming by his Dad and a few viticulture/enology courses at the local junior college, Randy made a barrel of homemade Zinfandel off the back block which turned out exceptionally tasty. He concluded that properly farmed and judiciously fermented, Zinfandel has great capabilities of being California's own wine nobility. The growers-turned winermakers birthed their inaugural vintage in 2002 and look forward to making their Zinprint on the wine scene for decades to come. In addition to growing Zinfandel, Harvest Moon hand crafts small amounts of Russian River Valley Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir and Dry Creek Cabernet Sauvignon. We proudly invite you to the Estate tasting room and winery to experience the next echelon of full-service Sonoma County wine country!

2008 Sonoma County RandyZin Vintage - Blends - Red
Retail Price: Not provided.
The RandyZin is a county-wide compilation of Zin with small amounts of Riebli Syrah and Alexander Valley Sangiovese blended in towards the end of barrel aging to create a tasty wine which pairs well with BBQ and acompanies the avid reader on those cold winter nights. We assemble this blend each vintage to offer an easy drinking cocktail style red wine that doesn't require bottle aging or excuse to open. Our grab-and-go pleaser.
Feeling a bit Randy tonight?
2008 Late Harvest Zinfandel Vintage - Port - Dessert
Retail Price: Not provided.
Our approach to Late Harvest Zin is one of relativity. Our Late Harvest Zin offers an exotic explosion at each sip... With only 13-14% alcohol and less residual sugar than most dessert wines, it's balanced! Yes, a balanced late harvested wine. Not too much sugar to cause the syrupy factor and not too much alcohol either. With classic racy Russian River Valley acidity remaining, it makes for a fun ride down Zinfandel Lane.
2008 Dry Sparkling Gewurztraminer Vintage - Sparkling - White
Retail Price: Not provided.
This fruit comes from the south block of our 33 year-old Gewurztraminer vineyard on the “Home Ranch” Estate where it was picked early so to preserve the very crisp natural acidity as well as the fresh green and red citrus notes. For a dry Sparkling, it exhibits an amazing floral aroma while still exhibiting the fine earthy notes from sitting surlees for over 14 months. This unique Sparkling is crafted in the Methode Champagne. With our 6th year in the bottle, this super unique approach to Gewurztraminer promises to impress once again. Dry, delicious and unique, our '08 Sparkling Gewurz billows tiny, tiny bubbles of crisp green melon, citrus aromas, and wonderful flavors of creamy, and clean citrus and tart summer melon. Dedicated to my Sparkling Mom, Virginia.
2008 "Ice-Style" Gewurztraminer Vintage - Ice Wine - Dessert
Retail Price: Not provided.
The 2008 vintage of California-style Ice Wine showcases unadulterated amounts of fresh cut pear and juicy tropical fruit while still retaining some of that very important natural acidity.
For those who can appreciate a truly sweet dessert wine, this rare ICE-style wine is just for you. We recommend this delicacy with your favorite dessert or over your favorite person.
